Refrigeration System Working Trainer
Description
Make: EEI, Model: RAC-03, Origin: India
Product Overview
The Refrigeration System Working Trainer is an educational and practical training apparatus designed to demonstrate the working principle of a vapour compression refrigeration system. It is suitable for mechanical engineering laboratories, refrigeration and air-conditioning (RAC) laboratories, ITIs, polytechnic colleges, engineering institutions, and technical training centres.
The system is mounted on a sturdy blue-painted MS frame with caster wheels for easy movement. It consists of a hermetically sealed refrigeration compressor, air-cooled condenser, evaporator, expansion device, refrigerant piping, pressure gauges, digital temperature indicator, voltmeter, ammeter, and electrical control panel. A transparent demonstration chamber allows students to observe the refrigeration cycle and understand the functions of its main components.
Working Principle
The trainer operates on the vapour compression refrigeration cycle. The compressor draws low-pressure refrigerant vapour from the evaporator and compresses it to a high-pressure, high-temperature state. The refrigerant then passes through the condenser, where heat is rejected to the surrounding air and the refrigerant condenses into liquid. The liquid refrigerant flows through the expansion device, where its pressure and temperature decrease. It subsequently enters the evaporator, absorbs heat from the surrounding medium, and evaporates into vapour. The vapour returns to the compressor, and the cycle repeats.
Main Features
Demonstration of the complete vapour compression refrigeration cycle.
Digital temperature indication for monitoring operating temperature.
Voltmeter and ammeter for observing electrical supply and current consumption.
Suction and delivery pressure gauges for monitoring refrigerant-side operating pressures.
Compressor ON/OFF switches and electrical protection controls.
Air-cooled condenser and evaporator assembly.
Transparent demonstration chamber with a refrigeration cycle schematic.
Refrigerant piping and expansion device for practical understanding.
Sturdy, powder-coated MS frame with caster wheels for mobility.
Suitable for practical experiments, demonstrations, and student training.
Educational Applications
The trainer helps students understand compressor operation, heat absorption and rejection, refrigerant pressure changes, evaporation, condensation, and expansion. It can also be used to introduce performance observations, temperature measurements, pressure readings, and basic troubleshooting procedures in refrigeration and air-conditioning systems.
Target Users
Mechanical engineering colleges, diploma institutions, ITIs, polytechnic colleges, vocational training centres, refrigeration and air-conditioning laboratories, and industrial skill development centres.
Conclusion
The Refrigeration System Working Trainer provides a practical learning platform for understanding the operation and major components of a conventional refrigeration system. It combines visual demonstration with instrument-based monitoring to support technical education and hands-on laboratory training.
