Domestic Refrigerator Test System Trainer
Description
Make: EEI, Model: RAC-05, Origin: India
Product Overview
The Domestic Refrigerator Test System is a specialised educational laboratory setup designed to study, demonstrate, and evaluate the operating performance of domestic refrigerators. It is suitable for mechanical engineering laboratories, refrigeration and air-conditioning (RAC) laboratories, ITIs, polytechnic colleges, engineering institutions, and technical training centres.
The system integrates a domestic refrigerator with an external instrumentation panel mounted on a sturdy blue-painted MS frame with caster wheels. The panel includes digital measuring instruments, pressure gauges, electrical controls, and an energy meter to support practical observation and performance analysis of refrigeration equipment.
Working Principle
The system operates on the vapour compression refrigeration cycle. The compressor compresses low-pressure refrigerant vapour into high-pressure vapour. The refrigerant releases heat through the condenser and changes into liquid. It then passes through the expansion device, where its pressure decreases, before entering the evaporator. In the evaporator, the refrigerant absorbs heat from the refrigerator compartment and returns to the compressor as vapour, completing the refrigeration cycle.
Main Features
Domestic refrigerator integrated with an external test and measurement panel.
Digital temperature indication for monitoring operating conditions.
Voltmeter and ammeter for electrical parameter measurement.
Energy meter for observing electrical energy consumption.
Suction and discharge pressure gauges for monitoring refrigeration pressures.
Electrical switches and controls for operating the system.
Refrigeration cycle suitable for practical demonstration and performance studies.
Robust MS support frame with caster wheels for convenient movement.
Suitable for refrigeration, air-conditioning, and thermal engineering laboratory experiments.
Educational and Experimental Applications
The Domestic Refrigerator Test System helps students understand the construction and operation of domestic refrigerators. It can be used to study refrigeration cycle components, monitor operating temperatures and pressures, measure electrical power and energy consumption, and perform basic refrigeration performance calculations.
Depending on the available instrumentation and experimental procedure, students can investigate cooling performance, compressor operation, energy consumption, and the relationship between operating conditions and refrigeration efficiency.
Applications
Mechanical engineering colleges and universities
ITIs and polytechnic institutions
Refrigeration and air-conditioning laboratories
Thermal engineering laboratories
Vocational and industrial training centres
Technical skill development institutes
Conclusion
The Domestic Refrigerator Test System provides a practical learning platform for refrigeration technology and domestic refrigerator performance studies. Its combination of a working refrigerator, measurement instruments, pressure gauges, and electrical monitoring facilities supports hands-on learning and laboratory-based technical education.
